Dry Jan alternatives

Chai Tea

One of the hardest things about Dry Jan is knowing what to drink in the evenings. Well don’t worry, we’ve got the perfect thing - nothing screams “cozy winter day” quite like a chai latte. Warm, frothy, and flavorful, chai tea is sure to hit the spot. Choose a milk of your choice and heat on a low heat and brew black tea with BoTree spices: Cloud Forest Yellow Cardamom, Royal Cinnamon, Pemba Cloves. Sweeten to preference with our Palmyra Flower Sugar which is a nutritious alternative to normal sugar.

Turmeric Latte

Turmeric latte is also known as golden milk and not only does it taste delicious, it’s also packed with health benefits as turmeric is a wonderful antioxicant and anti-inflammatory. Put all the ingredients in a saucepan and whisk constantly over a gentle heat, ideally with a milk frother if you have one. Once hot, pour into mugs and sprinkle with a little more cinnamon to serve.

We absolutely love this recipe as it incorporates so many of our BoTree spices: New Harvest Turmeric, Royal Cinnamon, Buffalo Ginger, Pure Vanilla Bourbon, and a grind of Kampot Black Pepper. Then you can add Palmyra Flower Sugar to sweeten to your preference. This recipe uses almond milk (but you can choose the milk of your choice).

Sugar alternatives

There are lots of alternatives to sugar and chocolate which are just as delicious and enjoyable. It doesn’t all have to be boring! Morogoro Cacao is a great way of getting your chocolate fix, Bourbon Vanilla Bean Powder is much better than using sugar and it’s a good source of B-vitamin, while Palmyra Flower Sugar is the world’s healthiest sugar- full of health benefits (antioxidant and anti-inflammatory!)

Healthy Chocolate Brownie

This is a great recipe which doesn’t use any added sugar. It includes black beans, cocoa, coffee granules, eggs and yogurt. To sweeten, make a vanilla paste using our Vanilla Bean Powder and use Palmyra Flower Sugar. (To read more about Palmyra Flower Sugar amazing health benefits - click here).
